Digital Assessments for Summer Reading

Image
Like many teachers, I have a summer reading assignment that is due at the beginning of the school year.  Since we have so many books on the list, I decided to create an digital assessment menu that covered lots of different digital assessments as a nice creative way to start the year as well as to assess digital media skills.  This was an easy project that did not take the students much time at all to assemble, and attach to Google Classroom.  Great idea to use with free choice books as well... TIME SAVER TIP: Parent Communication Log Using Forms

Image
If you are anything like me, I have about a million parent communications that I engage with a day. To make that process easier, I created a google form that I can easily access from my book mark tool bar. By adding this form readily, I just enter the information quickly which feeds into my google sheet. Then, I can keep a nice and easy record of all of the interactions I have during the day without too much trouble.  Feel free to use this idea with logging interventions.

I have provided sample questions for students who struggle. 4.  Then, each of the students get ten minutes to interview their partner using their questions. 5.  Then, the students are instructed to use any digital presentation platform to create a presentation about their partner. 6.  Based on time, I would have them present each other in front of the classroom to assess speaking skills or just turn in the digital media presentation on Google Classroo...
